Sample Products:

JVC GY-HM100U - Camcorder - High Definition - professional - widescreen - optical zoom: 10 x - supported memory: SDHC - flash cardThe GY-HM100U is a compact handheld camcorder with performance and features found only in larger and more expensive models. It's designed to be easy to use, making it ideal for news reporters and producers. Seasoned shooters will find that its small size lets them work in environments where larger cameras would be impractical - all while producing recordings on par with broadcast cameras. Customer Review: If you are working in FCP, this is the cam for you JVC has made it so easy to turn your home office into a full-fledged movie studio by using this streamlined prosumer camera in conjunction with Final Cut Pro. The .mov format is only the beginning -- moving media from camera to hard drive has never been easier, and the HD picture is gorgeous. The camera features every manual option a videographer/filmmaker could ask for to create professional-looking digital movies. I've used it for a few months already, and the investment was well worth it. If you have FCP Studio, consider dropping a few buck for this camera to complete the deal. The one drawback is that battery life runs short, but buy an extra, ya cheapskate. Customer Review: Incredible piece of equipment This is the camera I've been waiting for for 7 years. It has everything I've wanted: Incredible HD quality, direct MOV/Final Cut Pro-ready file creation, SDHC card usage, a decent built-in mic... It has taken the quality of the video work I'm doing to a whole new level. I could not be happier with this camera except if I had a 2nd one to do simultaneous 2nd camera angles in the studio... I am trying to make my filming worthy of the quality this camera produces! This is pricey but worth it.. so if you have the $$, don't hesitate to buy this thing, you won't be sorry.
Sony Professional HVR-A1U CMOS High Definition Camcorder with 10x Optical Zoom
The HVR-A1U is a compact and lightweight handy-type camcorder, ideal for shooting environments that require mobility. Its size, combined with its long battery life (up to 80 minutes of high-definition recording with the included battery), make it easy to get the shots you need, when you need them.
HVR-A1U camera

HDV 1080i
The HDV 1080i specification features 1080 effective interlaced scanning lines and 1,440 horizontal pixels. Interlaced pictures, which have been common to TV broadcasts from the beginning, alternately display odd and even numbered lines between each screen refresh. The HVR-A1U can also record at the HDV 720p specification, which features 720 effective progressive scanning lines and 1,280 horizontal pixels. Progressive scanning fills both odd and even numbered lines with each refresh, providing a flicker-free picture.

Not yet ready for HD? The HVR-A1U can convert material from 1080i down to 480i and output this digital video signal through its i.LINK interface or as analog signals through component, composite, or S-video connectors. When down-converting these signals, the aspect ratio displayed can be converted from 16:9 to 4:3, and display modes can be selected from squeeze, letterbox or edge crop.

1/3-inch Type, 2.97-megapixel CMOS sensor
The HVR-A1U incorporates one 1/3-inch type primary color CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) 2.97-megapixel sensor with a formatted for a 4:3 aspect ratio. The advantage of a CMOS sensor over CCD is it's ability to process a large volume of picture data at a very small size, which makes it possible for a camera this size to capture HD video. The trade off for this kind of chip over CCD, however, is a small loss in picture uniformity and dynamic range.

HVRA1U camera audio levels
Keep an eye on audio levels on the LCD monitor

Audio
The HVR-A1U adopts the MPEG-2 compression format, which uses 8-bit digital component recording with a sampling rate of 4:2:0. The camera uses MPEG-1 Audio Layer II audio compression format, allowing for two-channel recording with a sampling frequency of 48 kHz/16-bit. It features a built-in stereo microphone, as well as two XLR audio input connectors for use with professional-grade microphones or external audio sources. Each input level for CH1 and CH2 can be independently adjusted using two audio level dials on the camera body and viewed with an audio level meter on the LCD monitor.

Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* 10x optical zoom lens
The HVR-A1U is equipped with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* high definition lens with a 10x zoom function. It has the same optical coating as is used on all of the Carl Zeiss prime lenses, which produces sharp, high-contrast images with virtually no chromatic aberration.

In order to facilitate zoom control and recording operation during low-angle shooting, an additional zoom lever has been added to the camera body. There's also a zoom/focus ring located on the lens body that allows for fine adjustments in zoom position. Furthermore, the supplied wireless Remote Commander unit can be used for external control.

Large, 16:9 widescreen color viewfinder and LCD monitor
View your subject through the built-in viewfinder, the swing-out LCD display, or both. The HVR-A1U features a 0.44-inch type color LCD viewfinder and a 2.7-inch color LCD monitor, both in a 16:9 aspect ratio. You'll save battery time by using just one, but you may want to use one for adjusting focus and the other for monitoring audio levels. When eschewing auto focus for the fine-tuning manual focus, you can double the magnification at the center of the screen, making it easier to confirm focus settings during manual focusing. Also, the camera's "peaking" function can provide sharp outlines on the monitor to help with manual focus.

Electronic Super SteadyShot system
Sony's electronic Super SteadyShot System helps remove the slight hand jitter and vibration that is often the bane of video production--especially during telephoto shots. It does this by trimming off edges of the frame on the fly to counteract movement.

HVRA1U Tele Macro
Tele Macro picks up details on subjects from a distance

Tele Macro
It may seem like a contradiction in terms, but the Tele Macro function allows you to capture a macro image from a distance, which is useful for shooting small moving objects. Additionally, this function puts your subject in proper focus while leaving the background out of focus.

The Hollywood look
The HVR-A1U has features that can make your videos look more like they were shot on film. Cinematone Gamma allows operators to quickly setup and load a gamma curve with similar contrast characteristics to a film gamma curve. The Cineframe feature allows movement to be reproduced at 24 frames per second--the speed of film--as opposed to video's 30 frames per second standard.

No new tape stock
The HVR-A1U is compatible with conventional DV tape stock, but Sony recommends the use of DigitalMaster PHDVM-63DM tape, with its dual layer of magnetic material, which delivers higher RF output, lower noise, 95% fewer errors and 60% fewer dropouts compared to regular DV tape.

Customer Review: great prosumer camera
hd cameras are expensive. this prosumer model is a cheaper alternative to all the glam, but actully does a very good job shooting hd video. i have used mine to create green screen videos, travel videos, and other little youtube videos. adobe premier renders the hd video from the camera very well, and setup on the camera is very easy. i have been using sony cameras for about 10 years now and this one is by far my favorite. the mic is decent quality, but has two inputs for mic cables if you want to use your own. there are settings to allow you to do special camera tricks and assign functions to a button. touch screen lcd is nice, but the lcd could be a lot bigger and i would not complain. bottom tape feeding is a little annoying, especially if you are using a tripod. you have to take the camera off the tripod, then you can change the tape. a camera with a side mount for the tape is much handier, and probably faster and quieter too.
Customer Review: a bit different than what i thought
the audio is fantastic the extra place to hook up mikes and stuff is one of the best features. It also can convert hdv to dv or keep it as HDV some other cool effects include sepia shooting, blurred shots, as well as black and white. The touch screen is very nice to have, but it is nothing revolutionary. The picture quality is just OK. i have seen much better quality film on cheaper models. It shoots in a max of 1080i. Night vision is another cool feature. Although, i have found that the infrared DOES NOT shoot well past 15 ft nor does it shoot through car windows(inside to out) unless outside of vehicle is exposed to light. So far no problems with the camera, but something that is very important that i almost overlooked is the fact that the picture in a dim area is very poor even with the exposure adjusted.

Sony HDR-AX2000 Handycam Camcorder w/ 20x Wide Angle G-Lens + Willoughby's Professional Photographers Package
Kit Includes:
  1.  Sony HDR-AX2000 Handycam camcorder
  2. Info-Lithium Battery Pack
  3. 32GB Extreme SDHC Memory Card
  4. All-in-one USB 2.0 Card Reader
  5. For HDV or DV Camcorders up to 20"

Sony's HDR-AX2000 makes for an impressive prosumer-level AVCHD camcorder. While not as decked out as the HVX-NX5U (its NXCAM pro counterpart), it's a clear step up from its HDV predecessor, the HDR-FX1000. The camera's ability to capture HD and SD video in AVCHD and MPEG-2 formats--and save it to solid state media--is only one of the traits distinguishing it from its tape-based forebearer. Full 1920 x 1080 HD video--which can be recorded at 60i, 30p and 24p--is another. The footage is saved to either Memory Stick PRO Duo or SD/SDHC cards, then easily downloaded to computer for editing via USB 2.0 interface.

Along with the three 1/3" CMOS Exmor sensors and 20x 'G' lens from the FX1000 comes a new professional element: audio, in the form of dual XLR ports. This means direct input of balanced, pro-level microphones without the need for an XLR-to-mini adapter. Component, HDMI, and S-Video outputs are also available, allowing for direct connection with analog and digital displays.

Another great pro feature is the three control rings around the lens--for iris, focus and zoom--which bring a more reliable, intuitive feel to image adjustment. When you add in 4 built-in neutral density filters, color bars, zebra display, and a live histogram, you've got the perfect camcorder for documentaries, indie features, music videos and other applications where image quality won't be sacrificed for mobility and budget.

Sony Professional DSR-PD170 3 CCD MiniDV Camcorder with 12x Optical Zoom
The DSR-PD170 is a high quality video camera well suited to a broad range of applications -- from event videography to training videos to filmmaking. It's small size and long battery life make it ideal for use in the field, and its broad array of manual override features make it a very adaptable camera for all sorts of shooting environments.
DSRPD170 audio inputs
Two XLR audio inputs allow you to connect pro mics or external audio.

3CCD camera system
Originally, camcorders used one CCD--the imaging device that turns light into electronic information--and let the image processing unit decider the color information from the data. Like today's broadcast video cameras, however, the DSR-PD170 uses a prism to divide incoming light into three beams and uses specially tuned 1/3-inch CCDs to create red, blue, and green composite images, which are assembled into a final image. The result is a more film-like vibrancy and more accurate color representation. Advanced HAD technology reduces fixed pattern noise and the vertical smear sometimes associated with CCD images.

Audio
The DSR-PD170 records two channels of PCM digital sound with the 48 kHz/16-bit or 32 kHz/12-bit mode. It features a ECM-NV1 electret condenser microphone, as well as two XLR audio input connectors for use with professional-grade microphones or external audio sources.

DSRPD170 zoom start stop
A zoom lever and a rec start/stop button are built into the handle.

12x optical zoom lens
The DSR-PD170 is equipped with a 12x zoom lens. Zoom comes in handy when you can't get close enough to your subject for proper framing, such as a sporting event or nature photography. The camera also has digital zoom feature selectable for 24x or 48x. Users should note, however, that digital zoom comes at the expense of picture quality, since it is achieved by discarding part of the information from the frame.

In order to facilitate zoom control and recording operation during low-angle shooting, an additional zoom lever and a rec start/stop button have been added to the carrying handle. Furthermore, the supplied wireless Remote Commander unit can be used for external control.

To protect your investment, the DSR-PD170 comes with a lens hood with a built-in lens cap, which will keep your glass from getting dirty or scratched. The hood can be opened or closed by using a lever on the side of the hood, so it will never get lost. Also, it comes with a wide conversion lens, which is ideal for shooting indoors or in small spaces.

DSRPD170 zoom start stop
The kit includes a wide
converter lens and hood.

Optical Super SteadyShot system
Sony's optical Super SteadyShot System helps remove the slight hand jitter and vibration that is often the bane of video production. Sensors inside the camera detect horizontal and vertical movements and the camera can counteract those movements by adjusting the lens mechanism on the fly. This is superior to digital anti-shake systems that counteract image shake by trimming off edges of the frame.

Large precision black & white viewfinder and LCD monitor
View your subject through the built-in viewfinder, the swing-out LCD display, or both. The camera features a 0.44-inch type black & white LCD viewfinder and a 2.5-inch color LCD monitor. You'll save battery time by using just one, but you may want to use one for adjusting focus and the other for monitoring audio levels.

Index marking and title function
When using a Cassette Memory-equipped DVCAM/DV tape, an index can be marked while recording with the DSR-PD170 or recording from an external video source, which makes for quick access later on. Also, you can store titles in the cassette memory for overlay during playback.

More DSR-PD170 features

16:9 Widescreen Acquisition mode -- Captures video at true widescreen aspect ratio without letterboxing Digital pictures -- save still images to Memory Stick media and combine with video images through the Media Mix function
Low Light Shooting -- record in just 11x minimum illumination Large-sized Handle -- enhanced design for a better grip
Date Stamping -- Superimpose the date onto an image AV to DV Out -- convert analog input signals to DV signals

Customer Review: Great camcorder
I've been using this camcorder as a amateur video consultant for a non profit who bought top rated video equipment for their broadcast TV productions. After about six months of my use of it I was so impressed with its ease of use and features I ended-up getting one for myself. Its video performance is magnificent. Low light is especially impressive as I recorded in ambient low light conditions which would have required supplemental lighting. It can record to either tape or Memory Stick. I haven't tested Memory Stick recording yet but a knowledgeable friend told me to expect about 1GB to 4GB per hour depending on video quality setting. It serves as a great video tape deck too. Connecting it via Firewire to your Windows PC you can control all the usual tape deck functions of rewind, fast forward, pause, stop, record, play (with video capture) all from your video software. And as far as video software goes you can't go wrong with Adobe Premiere. Yes, it is costly but, like this camcorder, it is loaded with features that you will grow into with time and experience. I know there is a lot for me to learn regarding video production but I think I have a top quality camcorder that I will grow into. I make this a solid recomendation to anyone who can afford taking this to that extra level. I consider it an investment in myself because as I gain more video experience I already have bought my next level (or two) camcorder with this Sony DSR PD170.
Customer Review: Excellent Camera, Great Features
I bought this as a companion to my Sony DSR 200A almost two years ago. Its been a great addtion for two-camera shoots when color temperatures need to match. Both cameras shoot 16:9 (but not HD), which clients have asked for. Its great for interviews, spontaneous action, b-roll and so much more. Its low-light capabilities have produced some amazing shots to many a client's delight ("how'd you do that??"). The one drawback is that it is not a grab-and-shoot camera. Its automatic features don't respond well and you'll end up with unusable images, especially in bright sunlight. Also its wide angle lens seems to have some focus issues. I tend to not use it as much as I'd like, especially for "live" situations, I don't want to risk losing a shot because I couldn't focus. If you have time to set up the camera properly, you'll get great footage. Otherwise, its a very handy and smaller version of the DSR 200A, down to the XLR inputs, attenuators and variety of controls. It records on the small DVCAM tapes or on Mini-DV which for some projects, I'll use the less expensive Mini-DVs because of price. I haven't been able to tell the difference. This has been my go-to camera since I bought it.

Customer Review: better quality image from my sony dcr-sr85 hard drive
After comparing the panasonic AG HMC70 and this one,I decided to buy this one because the customer reviews said it was better. it has a better image than my sony dcr-sr85.It's less grainy compared to my sony but still shows noise on the shadows but I intent to use it with a video light so I'll post later the results.I messed with it with different settings, with the 1080/60,1080/30,1080/24 and my conclusion was I will have to use a video light on dark places;even in my office where the sunlight don't hit in the corners of the room it looks grainy. I did read here that many people bought an extra video mic.,but after watching the few minutes of footage of my dog,I noticed the volume was fine.So my guess is that it will be fine when filming an event with the loud music from the band playing. I didn't like it that it has a "demo indexed manual" you have to put the cd that came with it in the computer and print the PDF FILE so you can easily read it when need it.The included software was useless for me,after I had to register the camcorder and then get the serial number from the website...I realized it don't open the files,I don't know why.But I'm not planning to use it since I have Sony Vegas movie studio platinum 9.0 and I have already test it and it works fine.It doesn't include a mini USB plug like the one that comes with the canon DSLR cameras,so I used that one to connect the camcorder to the computer and then press "PC" on the screen on the camcorder and it opens a window that it says "Disk G" then I clicked on different subfolders and then the files are on a folder called "stream" and I just drag them to "my documents" to save them. And to edit them I drag them from my "documents" to the sony vegas software. It doesn't include a memory card so I had to buy one,I bought a transcend 32GB SDHC class 6,and many customer reviews had different opinions about different brands and my conclusion was to buy a 32gb SDHC transcend($100) and 2 kingston 16GB SDHC class 6($65/each),so in case they get goofy either one of them I'll know which one to buy next time and the 16's in case one of them looses the data I won't loose everything at once.I hope not, because I wouldn't like to loose important footage. The manual on the camcorder says that you can loose data if you take in/out many times the memory out of the camcorder so...is staying in,and then to get the data off of it I will just plug the cam to the computer. The battery last 3 and 1/2 hours so I won't buy an extra one, since I always plug the AC/DC to it.
Customer Review: Best small pro/prosumer camcorder to date
So, I was thinking of "going tapeless" for awhile now. I've had a Sony HVR-A1 basically since it came out, and it's served me well, but tape has been such a drag. I briefly owned a Hitachi Blu-Ray camcorder, but found the low quality on AVCHD at the time too limiting. Last year I bought a cheap Sanyo, an FH1, and while you could still see artifacts, it was pretty obvious that tapeless was really starting to exceed tape in quality. It had already won in popularity. Which brings me to the HMC40... what a crazy value. Ok, unlike the Sony, the XLR module is extra, and I consider it a must-have, but it's not horrible that it's unbundled. Some folks have decent off-camera 1/8" mics, which will work perfectly with this camera. I already have a nice XLR-based Rode shotgun mic, so I was really glad not to have yet another bundled mic that I probably won't use. The camcorder itself it just about ideal. My Sony was a bit on the small side, too many things had to be done via menus, the lens ring was functional but a bit small, etc. The HMC40 addresses this... it's large enough to have a decent array of real controls, the focus/zoom ring is silky smooth, the zoom rocker allows a great range of zoom control. Don't worry about the handle... it looks questionable, but it's aluminum, not plastic.. it won't break. One big potential win for tapeless hasn't always been realized in tapeless models -- different formats. The HMC40 wins big on this: 1080/60i, 1080/30p, a native 1080/24p (eg, not stored as 60i), 720/60p, etc. No SD mode, but I found I was always shooting in HD with my Sony, even if the target was DVD or some other SD output. And the bottom line: quality... the video quality is superb. And handy.. I can play the SDHC card directly on my PS3 (if you don't have a PS3, you missed that model, but many Blu-Ray players can also play back directly from SD cards) if I want to see the video immediately.... and this is the best I've seen from any camcorder I've owned. Naturally, SD cards and AVC may not be for everyone. Tape has the nice fact that's it's always backed up. But I've established backup and archive practices for digital still photo, so video's not all that different, particularly given the falling price of BD-R discs. But if you don't have a good backup strategy, you might want to stick to tape until you do. You'll also need a really fast PC for even basic editing on AVCHD files directly. My Q9550 (Core 2 quad, 2.83GHz, 8GB DDR2 DRAM) is good, though I'd love an i7 system. You can do easier editing via an intermediate CODEC... I use CineForm Neo ($100-ish) for this, and Panasonic has a free download that does some kind of conversion to high bitrate MPEG-2 or something (haven't used it yet myself). So there are solutions.

Customer Review: Awesome!
As others have noted, this camera is not for the casual videographer or the faint of heart. But, if you're looking for a superb prosumer camcorder, this is it. Packed with features, a great value for the price, with awesome video quality. Highly recommended.
Customer Review: Fabulous. Wonderful. Great!
I love this camera. If you don't have a lot of experience with prosumer cameras (as in my case), the first look may be a bit intimidating (a friend said, "It looks like you're filming tv news"). Especially as I added a Rode shotgun mike (not sure it does anything other than make the sound louder, but...still checking it out). You can't rest the camera on your shoulder, but the image stabilizer helps and the grip and buttons are all well designed and easy to reach. I struggled through the manual, but fortunately bought Dan Curran's dvd about the xh-a1 which appears to be almost identical. This was a -huge- help. I can't recommend it enough if you are at all unsure of what you're looking at. He goes through the simplest things (putting the shoulder strap on) to some very technical settings that you can do. The dvd saved me -so much- learning time and also prevented some careless mistakes (like letting sunlight through the viewfinder). This camera feels like a terrific tool that can do whatever you need and the picture quality--even on Auto--is beautiful. Having the two XLR terminals will make a big difference, too. The versatility and design really meets such a variety of needs--way too much machine/expense for "home video" (it's not the kind of camera people forget is pointing at them), but great if you want to shoot training films, web videos, independent films. Technology has changed so much in the 20 years since I was in film school--and it's still hard for me to believe that such a great camera, capable of such a quality product, is available for under $4000. Very impressed. Highly recommended.

Customer Review: great mic, one word of warning
My one word of warning is for people who own a consumer camcorder with a hotshoe mount. This will not directly attach to the hotshoe mount without an adapter. So be warned. If you own a Canon Vixia HG20 like I do, this mic will not directly mount without a hotshoe-to-coldshoe adapter. Aside from that, the mic is great.

Customer Review: Not for low light!!!!!
Generally I do like this camcorder, however if you expect to shoot indoors (or out) with less than a 60 watt bulb within 1 foot of the subject....not 2 feet mind you.... all you will get is "grainy" video. Very poor at early morning or late evening shots outdoors. Sony claims a 4 lux rating.....more like 40. I'm looking for a light now, but not sure if the outdoor shots will ever work. I film wildlife in low light......will probably have to trade this camera in. However.....with a 60 watt (or greater) bulb close, the picture quality is exceptional. Same outdoors in full sunlight. The built-in filters work very well, and the programming features are easy to use(very much styled after 10 year old Sony cameras.....very few changes which allowed me to use this camera with little manual reference). I do love the fact that my 10 year old handycam batteries interchange with this camera....Kudos to Sony. Also Kudos for using 3 mediums for recording......tape(which only cost about $2 each at present, a few bucks more for HDV), Memory stick (4 gig max) or the optional hard drive. The remote from my old handycam has more features than the new one supplied....but crazy enough...the new programming supports the old remote.....another kudo. Photos are very respectable, and clarity from the Carl Zeiss lens is legendary and many extra lens' are available(I bought a wide angle and 2X for about $75 as an experiment/starter, but the quality was soooo much better than I expected that unless I shoot for TV....I'm not planning to upgrade anytime soon) About 300 photos per gig of memory card will store. The camera shoots stills and video simultaneously or seperate(still shots at a higher quality) The supplied mic is adequite, but I believe there are upgrades in my future soon. My only real issue is the light requirement. Good luck. captn 11/20/09 updated.. I've since noticed the 20X zoom on this camera seemed to be a little short of what I was after, so I purchased a 2X telephoto lens for this camera and didn't notice a difference in distance magnification. Thinking the lens was defective, I purchased a second telephoto lens this time 4.5X. Still no difference except picture quality was decreased. Both lenses claimed to be for camcorders. I checked the distance at 75 yards with a 26X rifle scope against this camera's 30X boost and found the camera was considerably short of magnification to the target....as in about half the magnification as the scope. Basically, I guess I'm saying that long distance filming of over 200 yards is very compromised. Actually, if you want to zoom in on a critter's eyes at over 50 yards, you may be disapointed. I also tried a 1X wide angle lens which worked very well....just no telephoto improvement. If there is information out there from someone who has increased the power of magnification on this camera, I'd like the info. Thanks captn
Customer Review: camera model is fake.
the model of this camera is not a true as described. It is not worthy the monet it is costing. The model HVR_V1U is 1080p but this is HVR_V1U 1080i. Sony company do have such camera. I can't recommend anyone to buy this camera. It is better to use ordinary camcorder.

Opteka X-GRIP Professional Camera / Camcorder Action Stabilizing Handle with Hot-shoe for Flash or Video Light
The Opteka X-GRIP handle can be used by both a professional or amateur user. This incredible support offers stability and control. The hot shoe attachment enables you to add a video light or flash. Extremely useful product for skateboarding and other extreme sports.
Customer Review: Very Handy Accessory - Highly Recommended!
The "Opteka X-GRIP" is a surprisingly versatile tool for hand-held video shooters. Since we professionally produce instructional videos (some are available on Amazon), most of our videos are fairly static and taken from fixed tripod positions, but on occasion we do location shoots that require moving the camera to get better perspectives. The X-Grip greatly increases the shooting options and usability of the footage by allowing for lower camera positions and greater stability over normal hand-held camera work. Here are my observations: Pros: + Adjustable Mount; we have used this with everything from a Flip MinoHD (needed a washer to make it tight) to a Canon HV40 + Extra Hot-Shoe; handy if your camera doesn't have one, we have used both regular and IR video lights with good results + Good Stabilization; makes getting usable Point-of-View (POV) shots much easier than using purely hand-held camera work Cons: - Mounting Threads are a little longer than expected, not a problem on most of my equipment and easy to workaround This is a very handy accessory that exceeded my expectations! Highly Recommended! CFH
Customer Review: Great little product with only one drawback
Great little product for the price. I agree with everything said previously. Pros: cheap, lightweight, versatile. You have few options on where you want to mount your camera and the shoe on top of the handle lets you mount another accessory. Someone said it was a hot shoe but I think this is wrong. I understood a hot shoe meant it could draw power from the camera which this shoe does not. Cons: One small issue is that if you have you camera on here and try to use it like you regularly would by holding the camera the mount will dig into your palm and get uncomfortable really quickly.

Customer Review: G. Shaw is right
In short, I agree with G. Shaw: Holy cow. As soon as the lens arrived I spun it onto my HF-S100 and tried a few shots indoors and out. It takes a second or two for focus to settle in. There is some lens flare when shooting outdoors, which is no surprise. If flare proves to be a problem, the lens has 62mm front threads; perhaps a hood is available. Reviewing footage on a 720p HDTV via the camcorder's HDMI out, I see no signs of chromatic aberration. Barrel distortion is noticeable, but after all it is a 0.5x wide angle. Focus and detail look great. Initial impressions: This is a really good deal, and I wonder if DB ROTH make a comparable telephoto :)
Customer Review: Suberb
It is a great lens for the camera and gives a better angle of which to grab your shot. Awesome!

Select from pure shotgun or shotgun + surrounding sound modes. Since the mic is powered by the camcorder's power source, you remain cable free. The microphone includes wind shields.
Customer Review: Canon Directional Mic
Excellent product - I bought it for my husband, to replace the same one he had for over 5 years, which unfortunately broke after all those years of use.
Customer Review: For the intermediate videographer
I enjoy using this product. We film youth sports (specifically football) using a Canon Vixia HV30. Our biggest problem in the past was the overwhelming sound of wind in our production. The addition of this Directional Stereo Mic solved this problem perfectly. I love the ease of installation and the fact that it's powered by the camera's battery. Just attach it to the Advanced Accessory Shoe of the camera, fasten it with the circular clamp for stability and you're off! It really does make a difference and definitely worth the price tag.

Opteka Titanium Series 72mm 0.3X HD Ultra Fisheye Lens for Panasonic AG-DVX100 & AG-DVD80 Professional Video Camcorders
An essential tool for extreme sports and dramatic action shooters. The 0.3X Super Fisheye Adapter offers an extreme fisheye effect and a high degree of barrel distortion. It exaggerates depth by pulling nearby objects closer and causing distant objects to recede into the background. Advances in high-index / low-dispersion optical glasses, new barrel materials, and exotic anti-reflection coatings, along with the latest in computer-aided-design / computer-aided-manufacturing, are combined to produce lenses of unprecedented quality. Diamond-cut from crystal-clear, water-white optical glass, Opteka lenses are ground and polished to a precise precision. Because all Opteka lenses are designed and manufactured with the highest possible degree of consistency, you can swap lenses mid-shoot with no discernable variation in color or effect. The unprecedented purity, color saturation and repeatability of Opteka lenses virtually eliminate the need for lab color timing corrections caused by other lenses. This puts more creative control where it belongs - in your hands. Opteka lenses stand up to the most rigorous demands on the stage and on location. Opteka's hard anti-reflective (AR) coating offers protection specially formulated to resist flaking, peeling and scratching. This proprietary AR coating also reduces light loss and flare to less than 1% per surface, compared to untreated glass which has a light loss of 4% per surface. Opteka lenses allow you to shoot with total confidence!

Customer Review: your not getting whats posted
They are showing you a lens thats not to bad but thats not what you get when it comes. They give you a very cheep version of that lens it dose not look like the one in the photo the quality is not the same they dont even have the lens they are showing and whats worse when i talked to them they felt it was perfectly acceptable business practice because it was similar. The only thing that was similar was that they both were a lens.I felt the entire thing was cheep and not worth our hard earned money...
Customer Review: Useful, sometimes odd, collection of accessories
I purchased this set of accessories because it was a good value compared to what I would have had to spend on individual accessories that I needed. I was very pleased with two of the lenses and the filter kit. The "super wide angle fisheye lens" is okay, but not much of a benefit beyond the already useful and better quality wide angle macro lens. I didn't need a tripod or a camera bag, though they were of decent quality. The kit came with a set of adapter rings to fit all the listed cameras (and probably others), and for some odd reason included a second adapter ring that also fit my camera (in other words, there were two adapters that fit my camera). It also included a little lens cap retaining strap in case you want to keep a lens cap secured to your new lens adapter/filter combination, but it inexplicably did not include a lens cap. Most of the cleaning kit is superfluous. In all, I think this is a pretty good collection of accessories for someone who has just purchased a new camera.

Customer Review: Leg Supports for Accessory Power Tri-Pod
Well I am back with good news, AccessoryGinie came through with great customer service, even though the warranty time was up they understood my problem and sent me a new tri-pod with no questions asked. That is a five star cutomer service in my book. The tri-pod works great for my application of holding a small weather station and a chronograph. Thank you AccessoryGenie.
Customer Review: Great tripod for the $$
I purchased this tripod mostly based on the photo depiction. It looked well-made. I have had some wobbly tripods in the past. This one is stable ... unless you want to take it to the top of its range. But, I was willing to sacrifice stability at maximum height for a light weight and easily portable tripod. It pans smoothly and is as well-made as it looks on your computer screen. I think it's quite a good value. Great multi-directional adjustment capabilities and a stable platform in the lower height ranges. I would recommend it for the amateur photographer or videographer on a budget.

Customer Review: Great Resource
I've had this book for years and I still refer back to it, especially when I am working on a new project. I also refer to Videomaker's website, but it's always handy to have a book like this in your arsenal. It was a good investment.
Customer Review: Don't waste your money
This book is simply a collection of old articles from Videomaker Magazine. And most of them are hopelessly out of date. For $12.97 you can buy a subscription to the magazine and have web access to all of the old articles, anyway. You would also then have access to more up to date articles. Unfortunately, the technology of making videos is changing so fast that a book like this will never be up to date. At least half of the book includes discussions of obsolete equipment, technology, techniques. For example, there is only one chapter that even briefly discusses non-linear editing using computer software, and this doesn't even mention modern applications like Adobe Premiere, Encore, and After Effects or Final Cut for Mac's. There are a few chapters (article reprints)that are general enough to still be of some interest - covering things like script writing, lighting, legal issues, and composition. But, for the most part, you would be better off to get some old film-making books out of your local library or used book store which would provide you with more information on these topics which are not technology dependant.

Customer Review: Save your pennies and buy a real tripod
For the price, you can assume this is something that is pretty flimsy, but this product was even flimsier than my wildest imagination. If you have anything heavier than a point and shoot, don't even waste your time looking at it. I have huge reservations about putting my DSLR on it with a 30mm prime, much less with my 70-200, or even with my speedlight attached. "Professional" my ear!
Customer Review: "You get what you pay for"
Arrived Broken. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH SELLER "NEW HARBOR". Spend the money and buy something reliable.
