Waterproof Simulation Test
DiCAPac camera cases were tested in two underwater locations: a 5-meter diving pool in Korea and at Sapang Beach in the Philippines, where it was mounted several meters beneath the water. At 5 meters, the camera performed perfectly, with all functions performing just as designed. It was more difficult to operate the manual camera controls at over 10 meters, because high water pressure was strong-arming the case. However, the case remained completely waterproof throughout. The waterproof tests indicate that the camera is protected from water, snow, rain, sand, and dust in daily life, but also functions well at the beach and in the pool.

Customer Review: Keeps the Watter Out
What can I say... this product didn't fail at what I needed it to do - Keep water out of my SLR for underwater shooting. That said, don't expect to be able to do a lot of fine tuning once you get underwater. You can get at the shutter button, and that's about it. No big deal, I just jammed it into full auto and let Nikon do the thinking for me. You are probably better off buying a dedicated underwater point and shoot (The case reduces your SLR to a P&S anyway). If you do decide to go this route a word of advice: Water magnifies your subject (If you ever used goggles, you get the idea). It also creates a lot of haze if there is to much of it between you and your subject. On my first attempt, I used a 24-70mm and even at 24, I had to get halfway across the pool. On my second attempt, I used the excellent Tokina 11-16mm f2.8. It fit reasonably well in the casing, and by getting closer to my subject, I was able to get much better results. Pros: Keeps the water out as advertised. Cons: Not suited to professional work, better options for armatures

Customer Review: For the intermediate amateur
This is a great camera and a great package. It has all the professional tools, and they are very accessible. This is the camera for the person that wants a great SLR, but don't want to pay a huge amount of money. This camera is perfect for me. I used to have semi-professaional non SLR Olympus, but it broke down after heavy travel. I took a lot of pictures, but although I could adjust the aperture, iso, shutter time etc, it was a bit too cumbersome for me. The result was I almost always went with the predefined programs. With the D60, this is a lot easier, and now I always adjust these values as needed. It is also a much better camera. If you are a professional or an advanced amateur photographer, you can still take very good pictures with this camera, but you probably want to go with one of the higher end, where controls are even more accessible. About the package. Its great that it comes with 2 lenses. When taking pictures indoors, the 18-55 is adequate most of the time, while outdoor you often like to zoom in a bit, the 55-200 is good. Personally I switch back and forth a lot, so a 18-200mm would great, but its another $500, so this is still by far the best deal for me. One of the best features, is that you can take really good pictures indoors, during the evening, without flash. This is really great,
Customer Review: Nikon D60
I purchased this camera for my hubby for his 52nd birthday! He loves photography and has always been strictly film, Minolta 7000 35 mm cameras, all the lenses, filters, etc. He kept color in one and black and white in the other. We used to own a photo studio with mini lab. Here he had control of the photo processing instead of now having to depend on the kids at "Walmart" to produce the true quality of his photos. Because of where we live, unless we sent his film off somewhere and hoped it made it back, we were stuck with this processing. Our teenage daughter got a Kodak Easyshare digital camera for Christmas. My hubby was pretty impressed with the quality photos she could create. But he still felt there was something "not right" about digital. He felt he would lose his control and creativity. Plus I knew he would'nt be comfortable holding such a small camera. He needed the feel that he was really holding on to something. The Nikon D60 was the answer. I was scared when he opened the box, that he wouldn't kile it or that I was trying to take away his film, but he LOVED it!! He was like a little kid with a new toy. He's been playing with it ever since. He loves eveything about it. The way he can manually focus, change colors, crop and all the other things it can do. He is very happy and I'm happy for him. The 35 mm will always be there just in case, but I think we've changed him to digital now! Thank you

Customer Review: Dodgey Pairing
I was really excited to get this because of some events coming up with my family: Christmas parties, Christmas Morning, etc. I was to be disappointed. I probably shouldn't blame the remote, but since it's paired up with my camera, I'll blame them both. The problem is that the camera goes back to manual mode very quickly and the remote stops working. You have to go back to the camera and go through about 6 'clicks' to get it back to remote mode. I was hoping that I could be sitting down in front of the camera during Christmas Morning with the kids and just click the remote when we were ready, not have to click every 5 seconds regardless of a picture being available or risk missing an opportunity of a good family shot because it had moved back to manual only mode. The remote is very small, easily palmed, so that was a plus when doing a 2 second delay giving me plenty of time to to palm the device hiding it from the shot. I just wish I could keep the remote mode on so I don't have to leave someone behind the camera still.

I am a photo enthusiast and have previously been shooting with a Nikon D50. I enter this review with mixed feelings. I received my Nikon D90 around Jan 4th this year and was instantly amazed with its ability. Because of my previous experience with the D50, it did not take long to get accustom with the D90 and was quite surprised at the ease of familiarizing myself with the new camera. I did try to read up as much as possible because I feel that is the most importand thing to do in photography, knowing your camera inside and out. For the first two weeks, I would say it performed beautifully,as expected. However shortly there after I began noticing pictures that were grossly underexposed speradically through a shoot. I shoot sporting events indoor with various lighting. Here are my usual settings. ISO-1600 to 2000 with High ISO NR on,WB-K at various settings depending on lighting, burst and single exposure modes, AF area mode-Dynamic area,Center focus point-wide,Meter-Center weighted. I shoot approximately 200-400 photos over a period of about 3 hours with several breaks throughout the session. Photos in question are almost completely backed out but look as though they are very underexposed with just hints of the subject on the outer edges. These photos will be scattered about the shoot so it has been very difficult to pinpoint exactly what might be going on to cause this but I have been very surprised with that this is happening. The last session, I had about 25-30 of these misshots in a little over 400 photos. The Customer Service Dept. has been very gracious and helpful to try to resolve this problem and after talking to Nikon USA and Amazon Support, I have a new camera being shipped as a replacement. I am very pleased with this as I feel like it is a defect with the camera and did not feel like this problem should be showing up this soon. The D50 never has had any problem like this but it does not have the setting capability that the D90 has, so I will not try to compare their performances. I hope the problem is with this particular camera and not the model. I am a Nikon fan and will continue to be but this is a discouraging chapter in my history with Nikon products. I will certainly update my review and star rating after I have had a chance to use the new camera.

Thanks to this book i see what an asset it will be in learning about my new camera i've always wanted, just reading a few pages and viewing the pictures, it will make this camera "funner" to use now that i understand what i need to do for the situation im in to make a better picture instead of just turning knobs and getting fustrated in what i think i know. When I decided to order the Opteka wireless trigger instead of the "Nikon" model, I was a bit concerned, thinking that if it didn't say Nikon, then it couldn't be good, but to my pleasant surprise, the product works great, and after I figured out how to set up the D5000 for remote triggering, it works every time! I use this with the Panasonic G1 camera. The only thing that is a slight challenge with this grip is using the pointer-finger "scroll wheel" button thing that the G1 has (it should have been a thumb wheel). Nonetheless, I do like this strap on the camera. It is solid.

I recently purchased my first dSLR and wanted a guide to go along with the manual to help me learn how to use the camera. I'm just beginning to read the book and learn about the camera, but so far I can say that it is much better than the manual and would definitely recommend it as a supplement. It's a great book for a beginner who's just learning to use the camera as it's easy to read, easy to understand, and has colorful images and examples explaining different shooting options.

It is much easier to read, and has some nice illustrations also to help. I am totally new to digital photography, and this book has helped me get up to speed FAST! It also helped me make some decisions about purchasing accessories, like flashes, diffusers, and a tripod. There is excellent information about lense selection too. I just bought this package as my first SLR for a class I am taking. I did research and found this to be a good deal. It comes with everything to get started taking pictures immediately. The package includes an extra battery, battery charger and even an 8g memory card. I like the camera so far, takes nice pictures and is fun to use. Only small drawback is it does not have liveview so you must look through the view finder when taking the picture. Not an issue for me but worth mentioning. If your in the market for an entry level SLR I would not hesitate to buy this package deal.

Very sturdy and padded item. The velcro walls and dividers allow users to custom-set their compartments and make for whatever organization style they want. The pictures had me thinking the case was smaller and a little less rigid than it was. It's still a soft case, but it's a substantial size, and the padding is firm. For the price, this is an exceptional case, and it allows the users to divide their gear in the way they want it.

This bag works great for my use. It will hold my D90 w/vertical grip, 18-200 zoom, 10-24 zoom, 50mm prime, sb600, two battery chargers and all the filters I normally carry quite easily. It is padded well, with 2 side pockets and a large front pocket and a net pocket in the cover. I like to travel light most of the time, so I never usually fill the bag with everything. The neck strap could be a bit more comfortable. For use on the job, I had a waist pack strap made for this bag and like it even more. If you are going to take every lens you have with you, this is probably not the right bag, but for the average user with 2-3 lens it would work great. You might even be able to sneak your lunch in there somewhere.

Only the center of your photo will be in focus. Edges will be blurry (which you will not realize until you transfer your photos to your computer) - so in my case I ended up with a bunch of blurred photos which would be fine if I would not use the "wide-angle lens".

I love this DVD. It shows the operation of the D5000 in a clear and direct format. It describes the function on the camera and highlights the related button with a red circle. This way I can hold the camera in one hand and operate the DVD remote (when needed) in the other, which is a whole lot easier than putting the camera down to read the manual. Brilliant!! I got the disc on line for $9 including shipping. It was well worth it. I will be taking a copy of the DVD on vacation. If you're learning a Nikon camera, locate the corresponding Nikon school DVD, you'll love it. I promise.

Whether you're just new to the Nikon D5000 or new to DSLR cameras in addition to the Nikon D5000, you will get a lot out of this DVD. My Nikon D5000 is my first DSLR, so I learned a tremendous amount about what I can do, including how to do it with the specific camera. He also included a lot of composition and other tips for photography in general, while providing information about the specific functions and options on the D5000. I'm so glad I bought the DVD, and I plan to watch it again and again, since there is a tremendous amount of information packed into the viewing time.

I don't use everything in it however, it is here if I decide to. I mostly use the lenspen, lens tissue paper, q-tips, cloth and the air blower. It has a really nice carrying case. I carry it in my camera bag so that it is there after I use the camera. I really do like it, it works very well.

I have owned several dSLR holsters in my lifetime and know what to look for in one. First, it needs to be comfortable. A holster is designed for quick, easy access to your SLR and if the company messed that first step up its over. This case does not mess itup at all. it is fast and easy to the draw which i like. Secondly, the case needs to scream "PROTECTION!" which this one does as well. fully padded all the way around makes it seem like i could drop the thing and itll be alright. never would do that with my $2500 dollar camera inside. HA!

I've been incredibly happy with the Nikon D3000 bundle we purchased. Talk about a great camera / lenses at a fair price! When I've told other people what we paid and what we got they're amazed. (Several people paid what we paid just for the camera BODY of their DSLR). The Nikon D3000 has great features with an easy set up right out of the box. The "green mode" has been wonderful for my wife who has only used point-and-click cameras. Now, she's taking GREAT shots without having to know the ins and outs of photography. I have experimented with some of the modes and using the included 55-200mm zoom lens. I've been very happy with the results! This camera has been great to capture family moments - quickly. And, there's been nothing better for grabbing our very active toddler in action... he was nothing but a blur in our point-and-shoot, now, we're getting those cute and funny moments with perfect clarity. I would say this is a great easy to use / understand camera for the beginning photographer but has plenty of features to keep an experinced photographer happy (and both are done on a budget!). The extra battery, 18-55mm lens, 55-200mm zoom, Nikon bag, memory card, card reader, lens cleaning kit (did I forget anything?) has been SUCH a blessing and is what makes this bundle such a great value. WHY would you just buy the camera body or just the camera / lens combo, when you can have ALL this?? The extra battery and bag alone are worth it... then you throw in a zoom that usually costs $200+... and MORE??? C'mon, it's nuts to not buy this.

Customer Review: Good, but dont think I'd buy it again.
You get what you pay for with this lens adapter. It's heavy for as small as it is, it definitely doesn't feel like cheap plastic. The optics are not super crisp though. The best use I've found for this is funny/creative macro shots where you can get the lens right up on the subject. There's a sweet spot on the center of the lens that will let you get fairly sharp focus. Not far outside of that area everything is cool and bent looking but it is really blurry. Not blurry in a nice bokeh kind of way, just distorted and cheap looking blurry. If you have photoshop you can get practically the same look from a zoom blur filter. If you want something for spontaneous off-the wall snapshot quality images, this works great. If you're wanting something to create prints from or use professionally this probably is not a good solution.

I bought this lens mainly to go with my little Nikon D60, and I've been pleasantly surprised by it. For the roughly $100 I paid for it, it's turned out to be quite a good lens. I originally bought this lens because of it's tiny size. I also own the Nikon 18-55 VR which is a nice lens, but it was just large enough to be extremely difficult to wedge into or pry out of the small case area I have for it, so I thought I would try this lens out. It's enough smaller than the Nikon lens that it fits about perfectly into the case I wanted to carry it in. Pros: - the lens feels better constructed than the Nikon 18-55 VR. It's not so much that the Nikon 18-55 is horrible(at least in comparison to other similar lenses), but this lens does feel a bit more solid and above average. Does it matter? Not much to me, although the metal bayonet mount is really nice to find in this price range. - I can't see any difference in sharpness between this lens and the Nikon 18-55 VR. I'm not saying there isn't any difference, there might be, but I haven't been able to see it. This a good thing, since the Nikon 18-55 that this lens supplanted has been a sharp lens. That's not to imply that this lens is as good as a $1200 pro lens, but in comparison to the other similar lenses I've tried, this little Sigma isn't lacking in the sharpness department. - it's tiny. It's barely larger than most prime normal lenses. - focusing seems really fast and precise, more so than the Nikon 18-55 that I own. - inexpensive. Cons: - like all inexpensive, small sized lenses, it has a fairly small maximum aperture, f3.5 at 18mm to f5.6 at 50mm. Not a problem for me, and not really a con, it's a trade-off to get the size down and keep the price reasonable. - Sadly, no OS. Again, I can live with it the way it is, since VR would make the lens larger, and maybe a little more expensive. The more I use this little semi-precious gem the more I like it, and the more convinced I am of it's excellent value.

Customer Review: Cheap but functional so far - but not for bad weather
The card that came with mine identifies it as the SC-405BK - it's identical to what's shown here, except that there is a rubber Opteka logo sewn into the front pouch. I'm a bit annoyed by the price shown here - not bad at all for what you get, and I'm sure I paid a little bit more. It's strictly functional for the amateur photographer, but may fall apart and has no weather sealing. For the price, it's very decent. You get side pockets for your batteries, charger, and memory cards. The front pocket holds a tabletop tripod with ease (and room for at least one more), but isn't deep enough to hold a lens - I can physically place one or possibly even two kit zooms (like the Canon 28-90mm f4-5.6 III, and probably the current 18-55mm too) but the front buckles out. A good sign is that the front of this pocket is actually quite rigid. The center pocket is good for holding a prosumer SLR like a 35mm film body like the EOS Rebel T2, or the more modern T1i (500D in non markets outside North America). You can attach a lens and put something else in the case. Currently, I have the T1i, a 50mm f/1.4 with the hood attached, and an old black plastic camera cleaning box from the 80s between (I keep it around for the lens brush and blower). That's about all the space you get. I also would attach a small to medium lens case like the Lowepro 1W to the shoulder strap for taking to your site, but be careful that the belt attachment point doesn't snag on something. The advertised microfiber construction probably keeps dust down, and it hasn't generated any static that I've noticed. The shoulder sling has a contour where it meets the shoulder, though even this small bag could start to strain your neck if you pack the bag full, in which respect heavier bags will do worse. So what's simply bad? As another reviewer noted, many seams are cheaply done. It came with loose threads poking around the ends of the zippers on both sides of the main compartment. I haven't noticed this elsewhere. It's holding up just fine, but it's poor fit and finish when it comes that way new. It also has me worried that it'll start to unravel over time - some of the loose threads happily mingle with the zipper teeth. More seriously, all that protects your camera and lenses from the elements is a simple zipper and the lightly padded walls of the bag. The wall of the bag doesn't seem likely to let liquids through, but the seams and zipper will. This allowed a lens to fog up badly when a dedicated, better-made bag for a single lens with a lip between the zipper and the thick wall did not. I don't believe any claims this is waterproof, and didn't see any in any case. A few cents' investment in a plastic bag resolves the fogging problem, but it's added trouble and many photographers will not appreciate the extra steps. If you find yourself shooting in all-weather conditions (which, of course, many people don't) and need to protect your equipment you should look elsewhere. If you're just shooting pictures at the occasional balmy vacation resort, or a climate-controlled interior (and haven't left your bag in a cold car overnight), this bag does well, doesn't take too much space providing extra padding, and slings across the shoulder easily.

I was required to buy a Nikon camera for a college class this semester, so I bought a hardly used Nikon D50 that came with a 18-55mm lens. Soon thereafter, a good friend of mine gave me a 70-300mm lens that he was no longer using. I needed a good camera bag, yet an affordable one at the same time. This bag neatly fit my camera body (with strap attached), my 70-300mm lens, and my 18-55mm lens all in the one compartment. In the top zipper I fit all of the cleaning supplies that came with the bag (very cheaply made supplies here, but they do the job just fine). The mini tripod and a few cords for my camera fit in the front zipper on the front of the bag. The tripod is pretty useless for a DSLR such as a Nikon or a Canon, but I've used it twice already with my 18-55mm lens and while it's not very tall, it was sturdy enough that it worked for what I needed to use it for at the time. I'm not even going to try to use it with my 70-300mm lens on! But this is just a minor annoyance, as these accesories were free anyway. The Bag is a GREAT value -- and my only complaint thus far is that I wish it had more than just one small divider for the inner compartment..However I am gratefull that it did at least come with one -- and it velcros on quite nicely on the inside. I DEFINITELY reccomend this for DSLR owners that are low on money and only have two lenses -- Any more would not fit in it, but it is perfect for my purposes.

Customer Review: Dodgey Pairing
I was really excited to get this because of some events coming up with my family: Christmas parties, Christmas Morning, etc. I was to be disappointed. I probably shouldn't blame the remote, but since it's paired up with my camera, I'll blame them both. The problem is that the camera goes back to manual mode very quickly and the remote stops working. You have to go back to the camera and go through about 6 'clicks' to get it back to remote mode. I was hoping that I could be sitting down in front of the camera during Christmas Morning with the kids and just click the remote when we were ready, not have to click every 5 seconds regardless of a picture being available or risk missing an opportunity of a good family shot because it had moved back to manual only mode. The remote is very small, easily palmed, so that was a plus when doing a 2 second delay giving me plenty of time to to palm the device hiding it from the shot. I just wish I could keep the remote mode on so I don't have to leave someone behind the camera still.

When I decided to order the Opteka wireless trigger instead of the "Nikon" model, I was a bit concerned, thinking that if it didn't say Nikon, then it couldn't be good, but to my pleasant surprise, the product works great, and after I figured out how to set up the D5000 for remote triggering, it works every time! I highly recommend it.

Very sturdy and padded item. The velcro walls and dividers allow users to custom-set their compartments and make for whatever organization style they want. The pictures had me thinking the case was smaller and a little less rigid than it was. It's still a soft case, but it's a substantial size, and the padding is firm. For the price, this is an exceptional case, and it allows the users to divide their gear in the way they want it.

This bag works great for my use. It will hold my D90 w/vertical grip, 18-200 zoom, 10-24 zoom, 50mm prime, sb600, two battery chargers and all the filters I normally carry quite easily. It is padded well, with 2 side pockets and a large front pocket and a net pocket in the cover. I like to travel light most of the time, so I never usually fill the bag with everything. The neck strap could be a bit more comfortable. For use on the job, I had a waist pack strap made for this bag and like it even more. If you are going to take every lens you have with you, this is probably not the right bag, but for the average user with 2-3 lens it would work great. You might even be able to sneak your lunch in there somewhere.

I have owned several dSLR holsters in my lifetime and know what to look for in one. First, it needs to be comfortable. A holster is designed for quick, easy access to your SLR and if the company messed that first step up its over. This case does not mess itup at all. it is fast and easy to the draw which i like. Secondly, the case needs to scream "PROTECTION!" which this one does as well. fully padded all the way around makes it seem like i could drop the thing and itll be alright. never would do that with my $2500 dollar camera inside. HA!

Customer Review: Very Useful if You Use Liveview
Honestly I wasn't going to get this due to the high price, although I spend a lot on camera gear. That was until I had to shoot Jewelry and decided to use live view on my D700. The fact that you can fine tune lighting and focus, and see it on a computer screen at the same time(I was tethered on a laptop) was extremely helpful. However, my batteries were running out of juice like crazy, I had to keep one on the charger and one in the camera all the time. Live view will suck the life out of your batteries. It's just I don't understand why do we have to pay 80 USD for a power cable. I tried finding aftermarket products but couldn't find any, so I had to bite the bullet.

Customer Review: Perfect for travel or photographers just starting out
The Nikon D60 was a 21st birthday present to myself. I bought it on ebay as a packaged deal with 2 lenses, and gobs of other little things. (I would not recommend buying it as package bundle, unless you know the smaller items are good quality). 10.2 megapixels is a good trade for the price. I never had an issue with blowing up my images or printing with professional printers. A function I love with Nikon cameras is the "no-flash" setting. It's been a lifesaver when I don't want to use a flash but I want the camera to automatically use the best settings for a low light situation without the flash. The on-camera flash is another plus. My high end camera doesn't have one and it can be frustrating using a bulky off-camera flash all the time. I used the Nikon D60 rigorously for over a year with everything from coursework (I am a photography student) to fun gatherings. It's portable compared to the Canon 5D Mark II, which I also own. I use the Nikon D60 for occasions when I don't have time to worry about the thousands of dollars in my other camera (i.e. apartment hunting, traveling, and daily snapshots). I also frequently use the Nikon as a backup if my other camera's battery dies. Nikon vs. Canon debate: Since using both, I don't believe that one brand is "better" than the other, but I do feel that each has a different feel and look. I first wanted a Nikon because I liked the way it functioned and I was falsely told that Nikon takes sharper images. I've heard that Canon lenses have been around longer, and generally are better made because of that. Bottom Line: The Nikon D60 is a great camera for the price. You'll get sharp images, easy functionality, and portability. Perfect for student, beginning photographers, or family travel camera.

I've been an owner for over a year and it remains a popular choice among prosumers. I'm not going to go into the the features or comparisons to great extent but I at least wanted to give an idea of how the Nikon D60 has served me. This camera is for entry-level photographers that need more than a point-and-shoot. In short, I love the D60 and I'm glad I bought it. It produces incredible RAW images that I can tweak with Photoshop. It's a full-fledged DSLR and not one of those in-between types. I've taken countless photos of family and friends and it hasn't failed me yet. I have several different lenses for it and it works with most of the older lenses (however not all auto-focus). My level of expertise at this point on photography is modest and I didn't find it too difficult to get started. I do recommend several books if you are just starting out: David Busch's Nikon D60 Guide to Digital SLR Photography - This is the manual that should come with D60's. Customer Review: Better then I expected!
I needed a bag for my new dSLR camera & I was interested in a tripod as well. I figured for the price I couldn't go wrong & even if it wasn't that great it would tide me over for now. I ordered it and when I received it I was pleasantly surprised. The back pack is a little smaller then a regular size school back pack. It holds my camera & accessories perfectly & I am even able to put my note book and school book (taking photography class). Its great for trips too. I pack up my shooting gear and put my wallet in there and I have everything I need. The cleaning kit is basic but nice to have and also fits in the back pack. The pictures I was show the tripod fitting in a little side compartment. I haven't tried that yet. The tripod was actually a lot bigger then I expected. Its not the fanciest tripod ever, but it holds my Canon Rebel perfectly and so far its working out great. I'm very impressed with all of it. I would highly recommend getting it if you are interested in a good size camera case & tripod and aren't looking to spend a fortune.

This lens is an excellent way to get into macro-photography without the high cost of a macro lens. Since the standard lens for these Nikons is a zoom, you have quite a bit of flexibility. I have a macro zoom lens besides this and I prefer this. Definitely worth the money.

I was really surprised at how good this tripod actually is for such a cheap price. You get what you pay for, and I think this is pretty quality for about [...] bucks. If anything it would make a great back up/emergency tripod. Everything works on it so far, no problems. It's pretty steady, and easily holds the weight of my Nikon D40.

Although this tripod is functional, the term "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. I did really like the bubble level it had. But it was a bit frustrating for me to use as it seemed awkward at times and difficult to make minor adjustments without going through many steps. It also had a flimsy feel to it and many times if someone walked nearby when I was using it, I had camera shake. My 4 year old grandson accidentally broke it after owning it only 2 months. It was bent right in the middle of one of the metal legs, and this child was not being overly rough. My recommendation would be to skip this one, and upgrade to a higher quality tripod. I would have saved money in the long run if I had done that from the beginning.

This bag combo worked out great for me, I needed a lightweight portable tripod and I wanted a new bag so this was a great combo! The bag. Looks to be good quality build, and as for padding this thing has loads of padding and holds everything securely, some of the padding can be a bit annoying because it feels almost too tight but you can be sure that if you put something in, it will be exactly where you put it next time you open the bag. The tag on the bag says it holds 5 lenses, but I had no problem managing to get 5 into the lens compartment, plus one on the camera into the case, I then was able to get my teleconverter, hoods, and extra caps into a spot in the lens compartment that would have easily fit another lens so I believe you could get a total of 7 lenses into this thing with ease. As for the rest of my gear it was a game of stuff this here and put this there, but this bag is new to me and I'm sure I will come up with a better way to pack the bag. I got all my gear in there close to the way I want it, I can get it in there the way I want it. As for total space in this bag, I managed to stuff in 6 lenses (one on the camera) A teleconverter, two hoods, a camera, 8 filters, a large flash, 3 spare camera batteries, about 6 extra CF cards, and the cleaning kit that came with the bag all fit and there is still room for more. The Tripod This tripod will hold your camera steady in one place and pointed at your subject, it has a little hook on it so you can tie the tripod down so that you can get that piece of mind that gravity alone won't give you in high winds. I would not put a VHS camcorder on this tripod, in fact I probably wouldn't want to try and shoot video of any kind from it. Think of it as a tripod to hold your camera still. It isn't a rock, it is aluminum, it won't hold you up, it isn't a cane. I have used far better tripods than this one, but this one will get the job done and is small and light enough to take just about anyplace. The Cleaning Kit Yeah, it came with a cleaning kit, but I haven't really used the kit yet so I have no idea how good that is. The kit bag and the blower bulb look nice though.

Customer Review: Not a bad choice
If you are the enterprising type,that want to take a risk by choosing a third party product over Nikon product of almost similar price range, you are not let down is what I would say. The IR I figured out is not that useful. Have preferred the chord than the IR, while composing shots! Hence if we have to postpone the decision of either IR or the cable release till the last second, this is a best product. IR quality seems to be no the rougher side. could have been better. one out of two times it fails! The cable release though works fine. Not sure about the battery life, it has held good for a month though!

Remote is functional but the blinking LED that is supposed to blink does not. I am only giving it three stars as it feels very cheaply made and if the LED doesn't work off the line i would not be surprised if we hat a complete system failure. on the other hand you do replace two $20 remotes for $15 so if it doesn't break it is an awesome deal.

This case (bag?) is quite nicely made. It just fits nicely a Nikon D90 which is 5" wide, 4" high. and 2" deep. I carry it with a Tamron 18-270 attached. The lens is about 4-1/2" long and 3" in diameter. I hope that helps.

Customer Review: it works but not perfectly
I bought this housing for my Nikon D50 camera. I put it to the test during a Caribbean cruise where I snorkeled 3 times and took hundreds of photos underwater. In the same trip my wife used her Intova dive camera to take pictures during a scuba diving and 2 snorkeling trips. Here are the summary of my experience: The housing did not leak so I was able to take photos at a much faster rate than the Intova point and shoot camera. Still it is a rather expensive plastic housing. Its useful lifetime will depend on how long the plastic will not become brittle. My biggest problem was using the viewfinder. With my snorkeling mask it is difficult to look into the viewfinder to see what I am focusing on. One way to avoid this problem would be to get a newer Nikon with live-view in addition to a viewfinder. To get as much into the photo as possible I used a wide angle lens. However, it was difficult to zoom the lens in and out since it is difficult to rotate the lens.My wife's Intova did not have this problem and can change the zoom easily. Another problem I encounter is using the built-in popup flash. It is difficult to keep the flash pop up. Without the flash I have to rely on the sun and also cannot take photo of objects more than 10 feet below the sea level. Again my wife's Intova with the built-in flash did better than me. Overall, the underwater housing was cheaper than a new Intova camera and housing. It allows me to take advantage of the faster recycling time of a digital SLR. My best pictures are better than those taken with the Intova. But my percentage of good pictures are much lower than those of the Intova. It need a few improvements for this housing to maximize the advantage of a SLR over a point-and-shoot for underwater photography..
Customer Review: A decent option for the occassional underwater photographer
I'll start the review by discussing the seller, as this item was not ship/sold from Amazon but instead 47th street photo. While the order took a day or two longer than Amazon itself usually requires all told from order to delivery was a little over a week. The product arrived in perfect condition so no complaints regarding the seller. In terms of the product, it's important to set realistic expectations for what you can do with it. 1. Take it underwater. Clearly this is the most important aspect of this product and I found that my camera was safe and secure for up to 20 feet underwater (the farthest I went) without any issues of leakage. 2. Fit. I have a Nikon D60 and used my standard 18-55mm lens to get the largest area for my shots. As a result the front of the case was not snug to the lens requiring I told it firm, or shots were nearly impossible to take. In the future I may use a longer lens or other means to fix this issue. 3. Picture control. In short, you need to set the camera on auto with a decently high ISO to get this to work. Between the plastic on the case, the finger controls only being adequate, and the difficulty of seeing the LCD underwater you cannot change settings on the fly. Not sure you'd need to, but something to make note of. 4. Focus. I had a really difficult time with getting my camera to focus. This could have been the result of somewhat murky water or the lens not butting up against the end of the case but for every 5 shots I tried to take I only got one or two. This was a bit frustrating to get out of the water and only discover you got 10 pictures and not 40 or so to choose from. 5. Air. The only other issue I encounter was getting enough air out of the bag. Because air was trapped it made it a little more challenging to work with under the water. Not impossible mind you, but a little difficult. I'm sure over time I will get better at using the case and it does what it is meant to do - protect the camera from water. So if you're looking to get some pics underwater this is a good option but it shouldn't be confused with more expensive hard cases which will provide much more control over the settings and an overall more pleasurable experience. Still for $90 (on sale) I think it is a good interim step before buying a hard case or for the occasional underwater photographer.

Customer Review: Nikon 70-300 VR lens - Nice Reach when needed
Nice zoom lens giving you the added reach for tight close ups on subjects that are far away. The optics of this lens is much better than the cheaper versions that this lens replaces. In particular, the 70-300 G and the metal mount 70-300 ED versions are not as sharp as this lens. The VR function really works and significantly improves the picture image eliminating most blurs due to camera vibration and hand movement. Folks using this lens on a DX sensor camera need to know that the crop factor means you are shooting with a much longer lens effectively. For example, at a focal length of 300mm the equivalent full frame is 450mm. The rule of thumb is to use 1 over the focal length as a minimum shutter speed to get a blur free shot. At the full 300mm zoom focal length this means you need 1/300 on a full frame and 1/450 of a second on a DX to get blur free shots. The VR function helps to provide a 3 to 4 stop advantage. This means in practical terms that you can take a photo hand held as slow as 1/60 of a second and have great results. The VR function works well but is not 100%. Trial and error and practice will help to determine what your individual capabilities are. Absent VR, handheld at 1/60 of a second exposure at 300mm focal length with a DX sensor camera you can be certain that your shot will be blurred. You can easily test this by turning the VR function on the lens off and trying to hand hold the shot. Customer Review: Kenko 420-800mm alright lens
I own this in the Canon EOS mount.. they are in fact all the same, just ships with a different T-mount adapter, and the 420-1600 just ships with a 2x teleconverter. This is a very light weight lens, especially for its focal length, it has no aperture blades, it's completely empty on the inside, its like an old style hand telescope. When sources of strong constrast/light are coming toward the camera, expect heavy chromatic aberration, free of chromatic aberration in other situations. However, I've found a particularly excellent use for this lens, which is taking great photos of the moon on a tripod with a shutter release cable on my Canon 30D. Although be warned, the lens is very physically long, although light, it makes focussing extremely difficult, especially on a tripod, as there is no tripod collar, you attached the camera to the tripod, then when you zoom the lens all the way (linear pull zoom) the lens is over 30cm long (12 inches!), although light because its empty, its supported on the tripod from the camera base, so soon as you touch the lens or camera, or the focussing ring, the image in the view finder shakes like crazy while trying to focus, making it hard to focus on the most useful application with this lens... on a tripod. You can only use this lens hand held in full day light, and if you're doing so you'll need a shutter speed of 1/500 sec to eliminate blur from your own movement (due to the massive focal length), 1/250 sec is the minimum for sharp shots I could personally get. And shooting in daylight, whether hand held or tripod, you're going to want to use a 1A sky filter AND a polarising filter (or at least one of them) to increase colour and contrast, luckily this thing comes with a lens hood. The top of this lens screws off easily, so you can keep the lens pieces clean, if they ever develop fungus, good thing about this lens is water wont damage it, as it doesnt even have aperture blades, just glass and coated metal. Though since the tip screws off you could cut a circle out of some black card then a hole in the middle and insert it into the middle of the lens to create your own aperture to try and improve sharpness and increase depth of field, and reduce aberration and flare etc. I hope this helps. Also, forgot to mention that this lens has pretty good macro capabilities (in terms of enlargement in close focus objects with miniscule depth of field).

The amor has saved my camera from duct and hard hits i don't worry about the camera being dented or any thing like that. But i am still very cautious about how i handle me camera - like an egg- the only thing i must bring to your attention is that the infrared sensor as it relates to the extension battery pack and grip, the amor impedes direct signal from the pop out sensor on the grip to the camera's sensor ... but a piece of paper like funnel near the trigger so the sensor can pick up ...thats why i gave the 4 star to the construction quality... if you need to use the grip button and you good to go ... Customer Review: Decent Ring-Flash for Cheap
This is a good little ring-light for the price. I would recommend it as a beginner unit to try and see if you like this kind of light for your work. It gives a nice amount of diffusion to your light, but subjects have a strange dark aura around them, which you probably won't want. The light is also nowhere near as soft as a decent off-camera setup with large diffusers like umbrella or soft-box. This might have seemed obvious, but I was still a little surprised how harsh this light looks in most situations. I bought the light mostly to use for macro photography, but haven't had a chance to use it on any really extreme close-ups yet. I'm still pretty sure this will be a great tool for macro, but don't expect to get pro-looking results for portraits if you're more than a few feet away. The light is still only about 6 inches across, so take the whole light-size vs subject-size concept into account when deciding if this light will be appropriate for the subject at hand. As far as the build quality, the unit fits perfectly on my SB900, but it really has no way to hold itself on. The built-in clamping knob is extremely poorly designed, and is more likely to un-thread itself than actually hold onto your flash. I still have to figure out how to rig something (maybe some rubber strips or grip-tape?) to hold it on the camera better. It has already fallen off my camera once due to leaning too far down, but luckily it didn't shatter on the hard floor or anything - so that's a good sign. It is pretty sturdy besides the ineffective mounting system - you can tell it's cheaply made, but it doesn't seem like it will fall apart any time soon. Oh, and I too had to paint over the light-grey logo area on the front of the flash. I didn't want that big Coco logo showing up in reflections in my shots - very poor design on that part of the unit. They should have had something more simple on the top of the unit where it wouldn't cast reflections all the time. Sorry for the long rant. Overall, this appears to be the best ring-light you can get for this price to try on an SB900, so you might as well get one to see how you like it. Just be aware it will take a good bit of tweaking to be able to use it on a regular basis.
Customer Review: Cheap price, but cheap build.
I purchased this as a less expensive option than it's name brand counterpart hoping it would basically be the same thing. However, I think you get what you pay for in this instance. As far as the functionality goes, it's great. It works as it should and it gives a nice even light all around the ring. I only loose about a stop with this adapter. It provides a pretty classic ring flash look as a main as well as being a great even fill light when using off camera flash. The quality of this item is very poor however. The plastic is very cheap and brittle. I dropped it once onto a hard wood floor (a.k.a. not that hard) and the the plastic on the top by the logo cracked and shattered. The plastic at the base of the ring also cracked but it still held together. Unfortunately this greatly weekend the structure of the adapter so that it would not hold itself well while shooting vertically. I put some colored duct tape around the top and so far this seems to have solved the issue, at the expense of ugly duct tape though! All in all the product performs as it should, just take extra care to not drop it as it will break. I would also recommend adding a simple bracket to the bottom of your camera that attaches to the bottom of the adapter (as I have) to help keep some of the strain off of the hotshoe mount of your flash. It is quite heavy and really adds some weight to your flash's hotshoe mount while shooting vertically.

Customer Review: Great little camera to step up from point & shoot
I bought this camera for my sister. She has taken amazing photos with a point and shoot and needed to step up to a DSLR. This was the cheapest nikon body on amazon at the time (refurbished from Cameta Camera). I currently shoot a D200 and the D60 doesn't have all the features I'm used to. However, it was everything I expected and takes beautiful photos. The lack of an auto focus motor does limit the camera, but the number of AF-S lenses available are continually growing. The ability to have a 10megapixel sensor DSLR amazes me. You can make HUGE prints from this camera that are pro quality (but the camera itself won't give you the skills of a pro photographer). This body is tiny. Sitting next to a larger p&s its only slightly larger. Only having 3 AF points takes away some ease of use you get with the higher end bodies but they do focus sharp and fast. My current favorite AF-S lenses for these non focus motor bodies would be #1 Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras. It gives the focal length of a 50mm on a film body. Perfect walk around lens and auto focus motor built in. This lens is awesome for portraits and still life.If you can only buy one lens right now, buy this one. #2 Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II Telephoto Zoom Lens for Nikon DX-Format Digital SLR Cameras This lens goes from wide to telephoto. You can keep this lens on the camera all day for most people's needs. I bought mine last year, and it's a good starter DSLR especially if your transitioning from point and shoot to a DSLR. I got the D60 kit with the 18-55 VR Lens. Pair it up with the SB-600 speed flash and your good to go!. One thing about it (and I won't give one less star becuase of this) is I was hoping for the camera to have a built in motor because it was hard to find lenses that have a built in motor to focus, not like the D80. But overall, AWESOME camera!

Customer Review: Good lens in its range
Very good construction quality, metal focus ring, main body and the mount. with built in lens shade. Extremely Wide on Nikon 1.5X APS-C bodies, can be used on the full frame body BUT cannot cover whole frame, the border of the frame will be black(not only dark). It has shorter focal length than other APS fisheye lens(normally around 10mm), so it produces less distorted pictures that more like wide angle but not fisheye. The distortion becomes obvious only at the border side. Optic quality is just so so, but consider its prise comparing with other fisheye lens. It's acceptable.

Because of the extremely short focal length, it is hard to manual focus when you what to use wide open aperture. (but if you use smaller aperture, such as F8, F11, you don't even need to focus the depth of field is wide enough to contain everything.)
