Customer Review: Not Good...Better Off with d40 or d5000 I purchased this camera to replace my old d40. It was not a good replacement. The positives are that it is small, portable and light for a DSLR. It takes ok pictures in good lighting. But that's about it. Now for the negatives...The Guide Mode, which seems like it would be helpful, isn't really. It is hard to use and much easier to shoot in manual or any other mode. The LCD screen is bad and images looks really coarse. The big reason I don't like this camera is that it doesn't take great pictures. It's hard to get a good picture in low light and it is really noisy when you shoot above 800 ISO. I returned my d3000. You are better off with a d40 for less money, or a d5000 (which is what I purchased) for slightly more money.

Great camera and service!
I love this camera!! I'm somewhat a novice, but am learning and this makes it easy for beginners, plus has lots of features for more advanced users, so I can grow into it.
